The forests of Naszály, the sheltered summits of the magnificent Börzsöny, and the nearby slopes of Cserhát make up one of the closest nature preserves to Budapest. Ipoly Erdő Zrt. supervises the approximately 65,000 hectares of state-owned forests, handling wildlife management in line with forest management activities over a substantial part (51,000 hectares) of the territory.

The hunting grounds are composed of one large, continuous area and eight smaller territories, where hunters can shoot red deer, roe deer, wild boar and mouflon. Animals bagged by wild boar parties take first place among the 3,000 big game bagged each year. Hunting parties for wild boar can either shoot in the open field or in boar preserves. While neither the red nor the roebuck trophies break records, the fascination of stealthy stalking on foot makes hunting here an unforgettable experience. The mouflon preserves provide an ideal backdrop for high-standard hunting. The length of the spiral horns varies between 65 and 85 cm.
