BARTÓK MARATHON A JOINT PRODUCTION OF THE BUDAPEST FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA AND THE PALACE OF ARTS Bartók Béla National Concert Hall Festival Theatre Every year since 2008, a musical marathon of eleven concerts has been held on a single day, offering a broad cross-section of a single composer’s oeuvre. The “star” of the 2013 marathon is Béla Bartók, whom Iván Fischer has selected on this occasion as one of the greatest composers in the history of 20th century music in both Hungary and the world.
