Unusual Experiences at the Four Seasons Budapest

Ever wanted the sort of exclusive experience that will knock your partner's socks off and make for a great story forever after? The Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace in Budapest has caught our eye with an interesting offer for its guests; a combination of city tour and romantic dinner, but what a tour and what a dinner!

Imagine a world class dinner, courtesy of the four seasons' executive chef Leonardo di Clemente; a wonderful creation perhaps Sea Bass with black Olives and fillet of veal Rossini-style. Sounds pretty amazing already, but there are a couple of special details that make this dinner a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The setting is one special element, it is not the restaurant of the wonderful art-nouveau Gresham Palace, nope, not even in the building at all. Step aboard a limousine to whisk you a short distance to the Hungarian State Opera House, a 130-year old landmark in neo-renaissance style. Up marble staircases and through the empty three-storey auditorium where, set up in the centre of the stage is a table for two. Yes, your dinner is to be held centre stage in the Opera House. Not only that, but waiting in the wings are singers and a string quartet from the renowned Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra, ready to serenade your meal to the gentle chords of Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody number 2, or Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, which you can hear on this  promotional video .

Though a beautiful candelabra stands on the table, you may prefer the light of the 3-ton, 200-bulb chandelier hanging 60 feet up (out above the empty audience seats, not over the stage, where your table has pride of place.) It subtly illuminates the Károly Lotz 1885 masterpiece of dome painting as well as glinting off the hundreds of gilt statues lining  the three levels of the auditorium, to make the perfect setting for your ostentatious yet strangely intimate dinner.

Also offered in Four Seasons "Centre Stage in Budapest" package is a rather exclusive tour of buildings of different architectural styles, which can be seen quite close to each other, thanks to the eclectic nature of the architecture in Budapest. The tour finishes back at the Gresham Palace, the building which houses the Four Seaseons hotel itself and is a very beautiful landmark in its own right.

The romantic evening of a lifetime and amazing tour are combined in an offer available now to individual or group-booking guests of the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace in Budapest.
