Tamás Széll the Hungarian chef

Tamás Széll is the first ever Hungarian chef to attend on Bocuse D'Or Worldwide Professional Cooking Competition, Lyon.

Bocuse d'Or was launched by Paul Bocuse in 1983 and since then it has become one of the most sophisticated culinary events worldwide. Bocuse D'Or is organised in every two year and only the best of the best chefs can get into this cooking competition from all over the world. This year Tamás Széll wrote history. He's the first Hungarian chef who can attend on Bocuse D'Or.

Tamás on the other hand is the Sous Chef at Onyx Gourmet Restaurant in Budapest, one of Hungary's two Michelin-star restaurants, and the only one with Hungarian chef. Tamás is 30 and won the highest award in culinary competitions in Hungary twice (2008, 2010). He finished in the European semi-finals in the 9th place. Tamás was trained by Bocuse D'Or winner chefs, and there's the Hungarian team with him to help him in Lyon.

In the finals, on 30th of January, the Tamás Széll team finished in the 10th place. They beat such  countries with rich gastronimic heritage like Swiss, Belgium and Italy. Tamás also won the extra award for the best poster. These are really great achievements. We congratuate Tamás and his team!
