Hungary is most renowned for it's Tokaji aszú wine, but as the wine industry of the region probably dates back to the Celts and the country has 22 wine regions, the selection of Hungarian wines is definitely worth a thorough exploration! Budapest Wine Festival, 8-11 September
Every September tens of thousands of people visit Buda Castle to celebrate wine at Hungary's greatest wine festival. In the unique setting hundreds of exhibitors showcase their wines from all around Hungary and even from a few foreign countries. Even if you are not the wine expert, the ambience and the programs guarantee an unforgettable time spent in Budapest!
 
 
Wine tasting events, 25 August, 8 October, 26 November
Tematic wine tasting events feature one kind of a wine each time. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc Wine Tasting Event avaits wine enthusiasts in Vigadó in Pesti Vigadó on 25th of August.  This autumn Olaszrizling (Italian Riesling) and Bordói (Bordeaux) wines will be the protagonists of the events held on 8 October and 26 November in Corinthia Hotel Budapest. Junibor Wine Feast, 25-28 August
During this exciting event, we can meet 32 young Hungarian winemakers in front of the Basilica in Budapest.  
 
Budafok-Tétény, a district of Budapest  was once the center of wine trade of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and one of the most important centers of champagne production, and this this is the ideal location of such an event. Exhibitions and fair of artisan products will complete this wine fiesta.

Autumn Etyek Picnic, 3-4 September
Must, wine, friends and tradition! Picnic Wine Campus, exquisite local and guest winemakers, treasures of local gardens, home-made food, cultural and children's programs, artisan fair: János Csík and his friends, Bahorka Company, Lili Péterffy, the Cimbaliband and the Meszecsinka!
 
Enjoy tastes of the Zala forest! Series of events start with the opening of the hunting season at Bak-Sohollár, organised by Zalaerdő Ltd. and the Hunting Chamber of Zala County. New wine tastings, food and concerts will offer a thorough entertainment. 
 
Utilizing the special charm and atmosphere of the golden summer end Dóm square will be the home of Wine square for the fifth time, where the most excellent wine producers of the country come together. We are getting prepared for this year's event with 350 kinds of tastes of almost 100 wineries, with quality snacks, handcrafts' fair and a lot of programs.

Szekszárd Vintage Days, 15-18 September
Vintage Parade will be the most spectacular element of this 4-days wine fiesta, traditionally held on the 3rd weekend of September. Exhibitions, concerts, gastro speacialities and of course wine tastings will also be part of the programme, completed with dance performances and the election of the Vintage Dancers of 2016.
 
Since the beginnings, the Winesong festival served as a guide for more than a thousand male singers to the world of winesongs and excellent hungarian wines. Beside the participants, the dedicated audience is also contributing year by year to the unforgettable and unique atmosphere of the festival.
 
Villány Red Wine Festival, 30 September-2 October
Most significant wine event of Villány wine region is traditionally held on the first weekend of October. Vintage Parade, concerts, family and children's programmes make this festival, a real fiesta celebrating red wines.
 
 
 Wines of Hungary - Tokaj Wine Region
 
Tokaj-Hegyalja Vintage Days, 30 September-2 October
The Tokaj wine region consists of 27 villages and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well being the home of the world's first wine classification region which began in 1730. In October the region plays host to the Tokaj-Hegyalja Vintage Days, which is a great opportunity to visit wine cellars and taste the famous wines of the region, as well as see folk processions and enjoy the festival atmosphere.
